Hey Curious gang,
Damn, this is only the second time I’m emailing you this year? Guess I haven’t been too curious about much :)
Kidding, I’ve been moving around between the West Coast and Caribbean this year. Been curious about a LOT. I’ve explored some new topics in my writing. Quit my job in May, enjoyed a sabbatical, and now for the exciting update:
I started a coaching practice!
By and large, the most fulfilling work I’ve done has been in leadership roles. I love to help people grow, maximize their output, and become more of who they want to be.
I’d been working my way up the corporate ladder since starting my career, but there was only so much impact I could make from within other people’s organizations.
So, inspired by troves of badasses on Twitter, I took a leap and bet on myself.
To supplement my 8 years of experience building leaders and investing in personal development, this fall I got certified in Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), Success Coaching, and Hypnotherapy (lol — never thought I’d say that last part).
With this training, I’m excited to offer 1:1 coaching for…
leaders (founders & employees alike)
people who want to improve their relationships
goal-getters and achievers
The coaching I offer helps my clients:
accomplish their goals
internal (personal growth) + external (material achievements)
resolve internal conflicts
improve their strategies for success
I can also help people with things like quitting bad habits, releasing limiting beliefs, losing weight, and more woo-woo stuff. You can read more if you’re interested:
So if you know anyone who is looking for a Success Coach or Executive Coach, your referrals are SINCERELY appreciated! This is my brand-new business and my boyfriend would love it if I started contributing to paying the bills. :)
To show you how serious I am about that appreciation, Curious subscribers and their friends will get a special introductory rate to coaching sessions with me. And: I don’t charge by the hour. Here’s a special application link for you and your peeps!
btw:
We offer Corporate Leadership Development as well.
Have you ever worked in a fast-growth company? Where things move fast and it’s super exciting, but it also seems like management is a total cluster? Constant changes, no one’s in synch, no real culture beyond being a “tech startup”?
I have too. And I got a real kick out of developing training programs for leaders in this exact setting.
So if you currently work for a fast-growth company or know someone who does, shoot me a quick message! Tell me where you work. Our training programs are designed to make leaders optimally effective, synchronized, and going from good to great.
You can reply to this email or hit me up at shelby@leadingthesurge.com.
thanks!!
I know I don’t send you a newsletter very often, but I hope you know it’s because I care. I despise receiving junk mail, so I send you only what’s important.
other updates from the year:
My family got a puppy. That’s really all that matters.
Wishing you health, prosperity, and equanimity.
Congrats, Shelby! You’re going to crush it!
